Australian Style Stir-Fried Noodles Recipe (Fusion Style)

If you're looking for a simple yet flavorful noodle dish with an Aussie twist, this recipe brings together Asian-inspired stir-fried noodles and a touch of Western influence. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner and super easy to make in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients:

- 250g egg noodles (or any stir-fry noodles)

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- 1 small onion, finely sliced

- 2 garlic cloves, minced

- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated

- 1 medium carrot, julienned

- 1 small red capsicum, thinly sliced

- 100g snow peas or green beans

- 100g shredded cabbage (optional)

- 150g cooked chicken breast (sliced), beef strips, prawns or tofu

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

- 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce

- 1 teaspoon sesame oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Spring onions and sesame seeds to garnish

- Lime wedge (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the noodles:

Cook the noodles according to the packet instructions. Once done, drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking. Set aside.

2. Heat up your pan:

In a large wok or non-stick frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté for about a minute until slightly softened.

3. Add aromatics:

Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Add veggies:

Toss in the carrots, capsicum, snow peas, and cabbage. Stir-fry for about 3–4 minutes or until vegetables are tender but still crisp.

5. Protein time:

Add your cooked protein (chicken, beef, prawns, or tofu) to the pan. Stir well so the flavors combine.

6. Sauce it up:

In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sweet chili sauce, and sesame oil. Pour this mixture over the stir-fry and toss everything together. Let it cook for another 2 minutes.

7. Add noodles:

Gently add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss until everything is evenly coated in the sauce. Taste and adjust with salt or pepper if needed.

8. Final touches:

Once everything is hot and well-mixed, turn off the heat. Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds. Add a squeeze of lime juice for extra freshness if desired.
